Since opening in 1995, the Appleton North High School auditorium has been home to many amazing theatrical productions, concerts, guest speakers, and community gatherings. Now almost three decades old, many technical elements of our facility need repair or replacement—most notably the lighting system. Some of the original incandescent lighting fixtures no longer function, many are unreliable, and all are outdated.

For large productions such as North’s musical, fixtures must be rented at substantial cost to adequately light the stage and the more than 100 students involved.

It is our hope that this fundraising campaign will help cover the cost of a complete upgrade of the North auditorium to an industry-standard LED lighting system—now typical in high schools, colleges, and community theaters in the Fox Valley and throughout Wisconsin. LED instruments provide safe, long-lasting, and energy-efficient lighting that will be in use for decades to come. Students pursuing technical training will also benefit from working with current technology instead of antiquated and obsolete equipment.

Every donation will help to ensure that one of the most popular and celebrated performance spaces in our area will continue to serve our students and community far into the future. Gifts of $1,000 or more will be included on a donor wall at North High School.

All gifts for this campaign should be directed to the Appleton North Theatre Improvement Fund within the Appleton Education Foundation. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
