THE LITTLE MERMAID Swims Onto the North Stage

The Appleton North High School theatre and music departments will present the musical THE LITTLE MERMAID March 10-20 in the Orlyn A. Zieman auditorium, 5000 North Ballard Road.

The beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home and fins behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking. Based on the Academy Award-winning 1989 Disney film and one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages.

North’s production features a cast, crew, and orchestra of more than 100 students as well breathtaking aerial swimming effects provided by ZFX Flying Illusions, spectacular dancing, elaborate scenery and special effects, stunning original costumes,  and some of the most beloved and memorable songs ever written for a musical by the legendary duo of Alan Menken andthe late Howard Ashman including “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl,” and the Academy Award-winning “Under the Sea,” as well as several new songs by Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.
